Well I for one was thrilled to have Lori Laughlin back on Hallmark along with Steve Bacic, Sarah Strange, and Kevin O’Grady. These movies always hit the cozy mystery spot, and it’s been far too long. We didn’t get to spend as much time with Jennifer and Dani at Rags to Riches (garage sales barely featured) but it was great to see the whole cast again. Lori as Jennifer Shannon brings such a charming but slightly unhinged quality to her amateur sleuth which is great fun. I was expecting a more violent end for a man killed during a Lizzie Borden reenactment, but we got so many great red herrings that by the end I knew exactly who done it because they were the only one never implicated 😂 I love that at this point in this long running series, the detective Frank not only doesn’t try to shut Jennifer from the investigation, but consults her immediately. She’s simply worn him down at this point
Welcome back, Aimee Teegarden! So I heard someone describe this as too millennial and I think that was exactly what I loved about it. The characters felt like friends. The Fire and Aspire ritual is something I could see myself actually doing and the dialogue was on point. The side characters were lovable and just a little madcap. The whole movie happening in one day can make a relationship feel rushed, but the connection between Alex and Jack was rooted in real honest conversations so I bought it. Five stars for this Fall Into Love premier.
Is it just me or does Aimee Teegarden look like she could be Linda Boyd’s daughter?
