When Emily unexpectedly spends the holidays alone at her parents’ house, their HOA insists that she participate in its many Christmas festivities. Starring Lacey Chabert, Wes Brown, Stephen Tobolowsky, Melissa Peterman and Ellen Travolta.

This movie is so funny, it’s as close as Hallmark gets to a parody, but I’m glad it stops just short of that, and still has a lot of heart. There’s some great character actors who populate Evergreen Lane and a sweet childhood friends to lovers romance. There’s plenty of physical comedy and also tons of Christmas activities and a great message for all of us who lose sight of finding the meaning of Christmas in community service. This movie is an instant classic.

Favorite Quote: Even the biggest jerk is no match for the Christmas spirit.
Favorite Kiss: When she writes him the citation with her own “personal flourish”, it was perfect.
